The Hockinson girls soccer team is heading back to the Class 2A state semifinals for the first time since 2021.

The No. 6 seed Hawks handed No. 3 Sehome its first loss of the season by capturing a 1-0 win Saturday in Bellingham.

Brooke Roberts scored the lone goal unassisted, while Hockinson’s defense and goalkeeper Audrey Armstrong’s 14 saves helped the Hawks shut out Sehome for the first time this season.

Hockinson (16-5) will face No. 2 seed West Valley of Spokane at 1 p.m. Friday in the state semifinals, which will be held at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.

On the other side of the bracket, 2A Greater St. Helens League foe Columbia River will play Anacortes at 3 p.m. Friday.
