'These are only possessed by armed forces': 9mm cartridges recovered at Delhi car blast site

NEW DELHI: In a major development in the Red Fort car blast case, Delhi Police sources on Sunday confirmed that the three cartridges recovered from the site—two live and one empty—were 9mm calibre, a type of firearm prohibited for civilian use. A senior official said that although a cartridge was recovered, no pistol or its parts were found at the scene. "These cartridges are usually only possessed by the armed forces or those with special permission," police said. According to sources, no pistol or any part of it was recovered from the scene—indicating that while cartridges were found, the weapon used to fire them remains untraced.
