Bihar is set to accelerate its government-formation process from Sunday, with the swearing-in ceremony expected to take place on November 19 or 20, depending on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's final schedule.
The Election Commission will submit the results of the 18th Bihar Assembly elections to Governor Rajendra Arlekar today, following which the notification for the formation of the new Assembly will be issued. This will formally end the Model Code of Conduct enforced during the election period.
On Monday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will chair a cabinet meeting to approve the dissolution of the outgoing 17th Assembly. He is then expected to call on the Governor and submit his resignation.
