Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Enrique Hernandez, whose offense and defensive versatility were a key during the Dodgers' World Series run, underwent left elbow surgery for an injury he played through during the postseason.
Hernandez underwent a procedure to repair an elbow extension muscle and took himself out of consideration to play for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic in the spring of 2026.
"I suffered a tear in (May) and (continued) to play with the urge to repeat as World Series champion," Hernandez posted to social media.
Hernandez said the muscle injury "caused it to break the bone."
In 17 postseason games, Hernandez batted .250 with one home run and seven RBIs as the Dodgers went on to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series. He spent the majority of time as
