Islam Makhachev etched his name in the history books Saturday when he captured the welterweight title from Jack Della Maddalena in the UFC 322 main event.

Makhachev (28-1 MMA, 17-1 UFC) tied Anderson Silva for the longest winning streak in company history at 16 and became the 11th fighter to claim belts in two weight classes with a unanimous decision over Della Maddalena (18-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) in the headliner at Madison Square Garden in New York.
