TAOS — The Taos County Democratic Party is in turmoil, with its central committee voting last weekend to recall party chairman Daniel Cordova, after a group accused him in a petition of "nonfeasance," or failure to perform his duties.

However, Daniel Garcia, a spokesperson with the Democratic Party of New Mexico, said Cordova is still the county party chair until a vote in accordance with state party rules. He added, the state party's judicial council is reviewing the Nov. 8 the meeting and 62-2 recall vote after Ward 1 Chair Linc Summers submitted a complaint.

Garcia said he suspects the vote to recall Cordova will be determined "null and void."
