Colorado Mesa women’s soccer was shut out for just the fifth time this season of Saturday night, losing 1-0 to Colorado School of Mines in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship match.
The Mavericks dominated possession and outshot the Orediggers dramatically, 31-3, in the contest. But nobody in a black and maroon jersey was able to solve opposing goalkeeper Allie Lundgren, who made 11 saves en route to keeping her tenth clean sheet of the season.
The lone goal conceded by the Mavericks in the match came via a penalty kick early in the second half. Senior Callie Fuhr was able to fool Maverick goalkeeper Keely Wiecrozek on the penalty try in the 51st minute of the contest. The goal was the first surrendered by the newly-minted RMAC goalkeeper of the year Wieczorek since Sept.
