Jeypore (Koraput): In a major crackdown on serial thefts and break-ins, Jeypore police on Sunday arrested 19 people in connection with eight cases of dacoity and burglary reported from different parts of the subdivision.
Jeypore SDPO Partha Kashyap said the arrests were made after multiple teams tracked down suspects involved in recent incidents across Kundra, Jeypore Sadar and Jeypore town areas.
According to the SDPO, a dacoity in Kundra town a few days ago led to the arrest of four accused on Sunday, while four others linked to the same case had been nabbed earlier. Around Rs 80,000 in cash was recovered from them.
In another case under Jeypore Sadar limits, six men from Teliguda were picked up for allegedly stealing gold ornaments and disposing of them through a gold loan company.
