GRANDVIEW, Mo. —

A Kansas City man has died from injuries he suffered in a rollover crash Friday on Interstate 49.

Grandview police said 34-year-old Sean Fields, of Kansas City, died after he was ejected from a white Lexus that overturned late Friday morning. Advertisement

Crews responded around 11:15 a.m. to northbound I-49 near the Main Street entrance ramp.

Investigators said Fields was traveling at a "high rate of speed" on I-49 when he came upon slower traffic.

According to preliminary findings, he changed lanes, struck an SUV and lost control. The Lexus left the roadway and flipped, ejecting Fields.

The Grandview Police Department’s Major Crash Team continues to investigate the crash.
