THE search for two missing men has ended in tragedy, with police confirming bodies were located in Bellbrae and South Geelong over the weekend.

Police and family had been appealing for public assistance to find Mount Duneed man Bradley Davies , 35, who was last seen at a gymnasium on Baliang Street in South Geelong on Wednesday last week.

His disappearance was described by family as out of character, and police had held serious concerns for his welfare.

Officers from the Water Police, Drone Unit and Mounted Branch joined the search on Friday, concentrating efforts along the Barwon River.

A man’s body was discovered in the river near Swanston Street on Sunday evening. While formal identification is yet to take place, police believe the body to be Bradley.
