St. Joseph’s Villa cut the ribbon Friday on a $3.5 million renovation project that is transforming a nearly 100-year-old cottage on its Henrico campus into a “hub” for housing and mental and behavioral health resources.

The nonprofit’s new Flagler Housing Success Center s pans 10,000 square feet and features the first floor “Atlantic Union Bank Work Center” with computers for financial education and career coaching, an educational kitchen to teach cooking skills and make community meals and a room for clients to get access to essential household items like cleaning products.

The building also has second-floor office space for Flagler’s roughly 25-person staff, which provide housing resources such as matching prospective tenants with property owners
