Police have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing his father in Farmington last Friday.

Joshua Popielarczyk, 31, of Avon faces one count of murder in the killing of 62-year-old David Popielarczyk, according to Lt. Kyle A. Noddin of the Farmington Police Department . He was charged on Saturday after police obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Noddin said officers found David Popielarczyk suffering from multiple stab wounds when they responded to his residence on Birch Street on Friday around 4 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
