DES MOINES, Iowa —

Water levels on the Des Moines River and at Birdland Marina will be lower for the next few days, starting Monday morning.

Outflow from the Saylorville Reservoir Dam will be limited so Des Moines crew members can safely walk on the Center Street Dam. Those workers will remove flashboards from the top of the dam on Tuesday.

Once those boards are gone, water output from the dam will be increased to raise the water back to normal levels.

Expect lower river levels for the next 24 to 36 hours.
