Belleville’s own Rick Mofina, internationally best-selling author of crime fiction and thrillers, always wanted to be a creative writer.
“It’s in my DNA, ever since I was a kid. Something told me I had to learn how to type, so in Quinte Secondary School, I was the only boy in typing class. I discovered a magazine called The Writer, a guide to marketing your work, and enjoyed mailing my little stories off and the rejections came and at 15, I received a cheque. Later, I sold nine short stories to the weekly Belleville Citizen.”
