SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame women’s basketball team took a tumble in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Fighting Irish (3-1) dropped six spots from No. 18 to No. 24 after losing by 39 points to then-No. 14 Michigan in the Shamrock Classic on Saturday. It was the worst loss in more than two decades for the program.
The schedule isn’t getting any easier this week for the Irish as they’ll host No. 11 USC on Friday night.
As for the Wolverines (3-0), they jumped all the way up to No. 6 in this week’s poll after clobbering Notre Dame. Michigan State (4-0) also moved up in this week’s poll from No. 24 to No. 22.
