Prince Edward County residents who have a medical condition that results in extra garbage may be eligible for help disposing of this waste.
The Medical Waste Assistance Pilot Program allows eligible Prince Edward County residents to put one extra bag of medical waste at the curb each week for one year.
Applicants must provide a signed certification form from a medical practitioner ( e.g. physician, personal support worker, home care nurse ).
The letter must attest that the applicant’s medical condition results in the generation of additional waste beyond that person’s control.
Please note: the practitioner is not required to state the medical condition on the note.
The first 20 eligible County residents to apply will be selected to participate in the pilot program.
