MASON COUNTY, Ky. —
Two people have been arrested, accused of pointing a laser device at a Kentucky State Police helicopter and firing shots toward the aircraft. Advertisement
It happened on Nov. 3 when Kentucky State Police was responding to a report of a missing 11-year-old in Robertson County.
A KSP helicopter was assisting in the response, when the pilot and tactical flight officer were hit by a laser beam "directed at the aircraft from the ground."
KSP said the tactical flight officer sustained possible physical injury to his eyes as a result of the laser exposure.
KSP said the suspects also allegedly fired multiple shots toward the aircraft, posing a serious threat to the safety of the crew and those on the ground.
