Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School (CCVS) was placed under a brief lockdown on Monday.

The Upper Canada District School Board emailed families of students shortly after 2 p.m., to say police had placed the school in lockdown after an threat was received from someone external to the school directed at someone at the school. Police responded quickly to secure the property — during a lockdown all exterior doors and windows are locked, students are kept inside classrooms, and no one is allowed to enter or leave the premises.

As this happened close to afternoon dismissal, the school board sent the email to ensure families were aware that students might not leave at the usual dismissal time.
