On Sunday, Nov. 16, the Federal Aviation Administration lifted the emergency order prompted by the government shutdown.

The emergency order required U.S. airlines to reduce their flight schedules by up to 10% in response to additional air traffic control staffing shortages, resulting in significant disruptions and mass cancellations at U.S. airports.

"Today’s decision to rescind the order reflects the steady decline in staffing concerns across the NAS and allows us to return to normal operations," FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford said in a statement. "I am grateful for the hard work of the FAA safety and operations teams and for their focus on the safety of the traveling public."
