Ryan Hawk had a scare after New Mexico State lost to Kennesaw State , and not just because the Aggies lost.

NM State's kicker went to the hospital after the game on Nov. 8 with what coach Tony Sanchez called a "really bad" hematoma. He stayed overnight in the emergency room and did not play against Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 15.

Hawk left the hospital on Sunday, Nov. 16, and has been progressing steadily since then. He has been getting better every day, but his status for the Aggies' rivalry game against UTEP on Saturday, Nov. 22, is uncertain.

"Ryan, we won't know until later in the week," NM State coach Tony Sanchez said. "But we're hoping we have Ryan back, so he's questionable right now."
