Four Baltimore City police officers have been suspended and placed on administrative duty due to a criminal investigation out of San Francisco.

The reason for the investigation is not known at this time and the Baltimore City Police Department released the following statement on the incident:

“The Baltimore Police Department is aware of a criminal investigation in California involving four BPD members. The members’ police powers have been suspended in accordance with state law. They have been assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.”
