When local residents came across a mother cat and her kittens deep in the Mississippi woods, they did everything they could to provide help.

They fed the mama cat regularly, but despite their best efforts, they could not reach the kittens, who were too far into the dense woods to safely capture.

News of the cat family’s plight reached Avery Hood and Andrea Moore, two devoted women dedicated to helping stray cats in the area. They immediately set out to assist, heading directly into the woods to locate the family.

The Wary Mother Cat

Despite Hood and Moore’s good intentions, the mother cat remained extremely cautious and refused to cooperate.

“I jokingly told [the mama] to bring me her babies, but didn’t think she would,” Hood told The Dodo .
