Home secretary Shabana Mahmood says she's "regularly" a victim of racism where she's called a "f****** p***" and "told to go back home".

The Ladywood MP, speaking in the House of Commons tonight during a fiery debate on sweeping changes to the UK's asylum system, revealed she had experienced the sharp end of racism.

Responding to criticism from Lib Dem MP Max Wilkinson over Labour's new asylum proposals, Ms Mahmood said: "Unlike him, unfortunately, I am the one that's regularly gets called a "f****** p*** and told to go back home."
