The New England Patriots returned to Gillette Stadium with renovations.
The organization promoted tight end C.J. Dippre to the 53-man roster and waived safety John Saunders Jr. to make room on Monday, it was announced amid a series of moves.
Dippre, 23, arrived in Foxborough as part of the 2025 undrafted class in May. The 6-foot-5, 256-pound rookie tight end now joins an active depth chart featuring captain Hunter Henry and fellow veteran Austin Hooper, who has been in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Spending two seasons at Maryland and two seasons at Alabama, Dippre totaled 65 receptions for 782 yards and three touchdowns during his collegiate run. He played 59 offensive snaps in the preseason before clearing waivers and signing to the practice squad at its formation.
