The victims of Saturday night’s mass shooting in Newark were identified Monday by New Jersey authorities, who encouraged the shooter or shooters to turn themselves in.
Kiyah Mae Scott, 21 and Jordan Garcia, 10, were killed in the shooting around 7 p.m. on a city street, the Essex County Prosecutor’s office said.
Garcia and his 11-year-old brother were walking home from a youth football practice when the gunfire rang out, their coach told WABC. His brother was wounded in the shooting and not publicly named due to his age. He was in stable condition Monday.
“His mom, I just feel so sad for her, she works really hard for the boys,” the coach told the station.
Two other people, 60-year-old Sheppard Miller and 19-year-old Masi Rogers, were also wounded in the shooting , according to
