SUNBURY — Sunday’s presentation on the former Chestnut Street Opera House offered history to the public, but for two attendees, it also reopened a chapter of their family story.
Andrew Magazzu, of Stone Harbor, New Jersey — the son of the opera house’s owner and manager in the 1920s — and his niece, Laura Creveling, of Syracuse, N.Y., attended the Northumberland County Historical Society’s program “Chestnut Street Opera House: Putting the Puzzle Pieces Together.” The presentation was held Sunday at the Fort Augusta and Hunter House, 1150 N. Front St., Sunbury.
