MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Tennessee began issuing full November SNAP benefits for families on Monday, November 17.
The renewal of SNAP benefits follows the longest government shutdown in history, a 44-day disruption that lasted into November and resulted in SNAP benefits not being issued for people across the country.
On Monday, the Tennessee Department of Human Services said it received guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service to begin issuing full benefits for November.
Tennessee SNAP recipients began getting partial benefits a week earlier. People who received a partial benefit will receive the remainder of their November benefit amount now that TDHS has received guidance to issue full benefits.
