MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Memphis woman has pled guilty to defrauding a pair of federal COVID-19 relief programs out of over half-a-million dollars, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Tennessee said Monday.

37-year-old Deashley Tabor pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and to making false claims against the United States government on October 6. According to information presented in court, Tabor and another person defrauded the federal government out of over $560,000 by filing fraudulent applications for unemployment benefits in over 27 different states during the first year of the pandemic.
