Fresno police are investigating a homicide after a shooting early Saturday left a 22-year-old man dead and another wounded.

Around 3 a.m. officers responded to reports of a disturbance involving multiple people near Olive Avenue and Ninth Street, followed minutes later by calls reporting gunfire, the Fresno Police Department said.

Officers arrived to find two people suffering from gunshot wounds. A 33-year-old man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, treated and later released.

The second victim, Jordan Abuchon, 22, died at the scene.

Detectives determined a disturbance involving multiple male and female subjects preceded the shooting at a nearby location. The motive and identities of those involved remain under investigation.
