A popular Connecticut brewery has announced it will close next month following a "lengthy deliberation and reflection," and it is inviting the community to come by for a final toast.

Almost Famous Brewery in East Granby announced in a Facebook post that it will close on Dec. 28. Hundreds of people have expressed sadness over the closure, sharing their favorite memories — and brews — from the Kripes Road taproom.

We want to thank each one of you for making our journey exciting and rewarding," the post read. "Please join us as we will continue as usual with our food trucks, music, and all calendar events through the end of the year. ... We continue to explore different ideas and options for the brewery but can’t guarantee where it will take us. We have many things to consider and evaluate with this incredibly hard decision. We will provide you with updates as we work our way through this difficult process.

Almost Famous said it will honor all reservations and planned private events.

Many commenters said they would miss the community that Almost Famous Brewery built through its live music events.

"This is really sad news," one person wrote. "I have had many wonderful nights at the weekly jam hosted by Dylan Verona and have met many great friends there."

"AFB was one of my favorite places to play," someone else said. "Everyone was always so kind and welcoming to me throughout the years. This is a tremendous loss."

Others said they would miss — well — the beer.

"Almost Famous is a great brewery with amazing atmosphere, bands, and most of all, the beer!!!," one woman wrote. "We will visit as much as we can and enjoy every minute of it."
