LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Louisville men's basketball is back inside the AP top 10 after knocking off rival Kentucky at home last week.
The Cardinals moved from 12th to 6th in the latest ranking. This is the highest Louisville has been ranked since the 2019-2020 season, where the Cardinals reached the No. 1 spot.
Louisville was victorious in the Battle of the Bluegrass, beating Kentucky 96-88. While the final score reflects a close game, Louisville led by as much as 20 against the Wildcats.
The Cardinals improved to 4-0 over the weekend, handily beating Ohio 106-81.
Next up for No. 6 Louisville is Cincinnati at Heritage Bank Center on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The Cards and Bearcats haven't met since the 2022-23 season, when Cincinnati beat Louisville 81-62 at the Maui Jim Invitational.
