The UN Security Council has voted in favour of US President Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza, which includes deployment of international troops. The vote on Monday pushed forward Washington’s 20-point framework, which lays out the first comprehensive international roadmap for ceasefire enforcement, reconstruction and governance in Gaza.
Israel and Hamas agreed last month to the plan’s first steps by halting their two-year war and arranging a hostage release. With Monday’s vote, the blueprint shifts from proposal to endorsed mandate, strengthening the case for a transitional authority.
