Vala Lois “Peggie” Wampler Dawson, age 88, of Jefferson City, passed away on November 16, 2025. Peggie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carrie Wampler; her husband of 65 years, Donald Dawson; her sisters, Ruth Western Hubbard, Bessie Reynolds DeLeonardo, and Kate Wampler; brother, James “Buddy” Wampler; and half-brother, Wayne Wampler.

She was a member of Mill Springs Baptist Church and formerly a 20+ year employee of Jefferson Middle School Cafeteria. Her earthly treasures included her four children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She had an infectious laugh that brought a smile to everyone around her and was a well-regarded home cook whose specialties included pumpkin pie, potato salad, deviled eggs, pimento cheese, and holiday dressing.
