A San Dimas woman who found dead in county jail four days after she was sentenced for fatally stabbing her wife with a Japanese sword killed herself, authorities confirmed Monday, Nov. 17.
A deputy doing checks discovered 45-year-old Weichien Huang in her cell at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood at 10:56 a.m. on Nov. 7, sheriff’s Lt. Steve De Jong said.
She died of ligature hanging and her death has been ruled as a suicide, according to the medical examiner’s office said.
Huang wasn’t under a suicide watch, De Jong said. He said she left a note but declined to discuss the contents.
