MADISON, Wis. -- A man is dead following a shooting on Madison's northside Monday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Brentwood Parkway near Marina Park around 2:45 p.m.

Police said a man was found lying in the road suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died at the hospital.

Detectives are reviewing physical and digital evidence and talking to witnesses. At this time, police believe this was a targeted incident.

The Violent Crime Unit remains at the scene and are actively investigating this shooting. At this time, no arrests have been made.
