LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - A jury found a Marion man guilty Monday of killing four people with a metal pipe in a rural pole barn in June 2024.

Luke Truesdell was convicted on three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Amanda Parker, Keonna Ryan and Brent Brown, and one count of second-degree murder for the death of Romondus Cooper.

The jury deliberated for more than two days before returning the verdict. Some family members of the victims cried when the judge read the guilty verdicts.

“Today was a win... Huge win,” prosecutors said after the verdict.

Prosecution expected quicker verdict

Prosecutors said they expected a faster decision given the evidence in the case.
