HUDSON, N.H. —

The head of the U.S. Small Business Administration visited Hudson on Monday to tour a local manufacturer and discuss the urgent need for skilled workers, a priority for both the SBA and local tech schools.

Alex Bowling, a senior in Salem's Career and Technical Education program, is gaining hands-on experience in the school's automotive program.

"You get to put all your blood, sweat and tears into something and then to finally see it come to fruition at the end – it's the best," Bowling said.

The program's director, George Murray, emphasized the importance of equipping students with the skills employers need.
