INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A Republican Indiana state senator, Greg Goode, was reportedly the victim of a swatting attack just hours after President Donald Trump criticized him and other state Republicans for not supporting a gerrymandering plan.

The county sheriff's office confirmed that Goode was targeted by a swatting email claiming there were people hurt in his home. Swatting involves provoking police responses to the homes of targeted individuals.

Goode expressed concern over the incident, saying, "the violent nature of our current political environment."

President Trump had called out Indiana Republicans, including Goode, opposing the redistricting efforts. Trump urged on Truth Social that these Republicans must help maintain the majority in Congress.
