STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Class is in session for this group of real estate agents at the Pocono Real Estate Academy near Stroudsburg. Dawn Chamberlain leads the class. She says enrollment for people getting into the world of real estate is way up, "Last year we had about 90 students, this year we have 151, which is like a 57 1/2% increase."
Kalia DiAngelis is one of those students on track to get a license, choosing a different path than most of her classmates says, "I'm 18 years old and I really wanted to start early. I didn't see a reason for me to go to college."
Instructors say that in the current job market, there are a few reasons why people are turning to real estate for their next career move.
