SPIRIT LAKE RESERVATION — Isaac Hunt's younger brother has been federally charged with second-degree murder after remains believed to be Hunt's were found on a family property during a Saturday, Nov. 15, search.

The charge against D'Angelo James Hunt was filed Monday, Nov. 17, and along with it came an affidavit from law enforcement.

The affidavit details an altercation witnessed by unnamed people shortly before Isaac Hunt disappeared from the Spirit Lake Reservation. He was reported last seen in March 2024, leaving his father's home in St. Michael. The affidavit said his father was incarcerated at the time; Isaac Hunt and D'Angelo Hunt were said to be at the residence together.
