NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its investigation into the car bombing near the Red Fort, revealing plans for Hamas-style attacks using drones. On Monday, the NIA arrested Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, a resident of Qazigund in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir. He is believed to be a key associate of the suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi, who executed the attack on November 10, which resulted in 15 deaths and over 30 injuries.

Wani was apprehended in Srinagar, where he allegedly provided technical support for modifying drones and attempting to create small rockets for the planned attacks. The NIA stated that these drones were intended to carry explosives and target crowded areas, similar to tactics used by terrorist groups like Hamas and ISIS in conflict zones.

This arrest follows the detention of Amir Rashid Ali, who was taken into custody on Sunday. Ali is linked to the Hyundai i20 car used in the bombing, which was registered in his name. The NIA confirmed that he conspired with Umar Un Nabi to facilitate the attack.

The agency is pursuing multiple leads and conducting searches across various states to identify all individuals involved in the conspiracy. Investigators have examined 73 witnesses, including victims of the blast, and are working closely with local police forces.

Additionally, the NIA is exploring a potential 'shoe bomber' angle after a shoe was found at the blast site, raising concerns about a possible explosive device hidden within it. Forensic teams are analyzing the shoe and other evidence to determine the nature of the explosives used in the attack.

The NIA continues to unravel the broader conspiracy behind the bombing, with ongoing investigations aimed at preventing future attacks and ensuring public safety.
