Pauline Quirke is still able to identify her loved ones despite her ongoing four-year battle with dementia .
Although her family is uncertain about the exact progression of the degenerative condition, which affects thinking, memory, and reasoning skills, the 66 year old Birds of a Feather actress remains "funny, talking, and happy".
In an appearance on BBC Breakfast on Monday, Pauline's son Charlie Quirke shared: "My mum knows exactly who we are. Every time she sees all of us, she smiles, laughs, says 'I love you', says 'hello'."
