PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Court documents are providing graphic new details into a shooting that almost killed a man at a west Phoenix apartment earlier this month.
Police say that 23-year-old David Williams Jones is facing numerous charges for allegedly attempting to kill his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend before turning the gun on himself.
“Your honor, given the circumstances, this family is still in grave danger of the defendant,” a prosecutor said during Jones’s initial court appearance over the weekend.
Court documents detail that Williams and his now-ex-girlfriend began dating in late 2023 and had a child together in June 2024. Their relationship reportedly ended in July of this year, and Williams moved out of state before returning to Arizona in September.
