ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. —
This year, 55 people in Anderson County have died by suicide, a troubling trend and new record for the county. Looking at the population, that's almost 2.5 times the national average, and there's still more than a month left in the year.
Sharon Orvis, who lost her son Daniel in 2016 when he was just 19 years old, shared the impact of his death. "It literally has destroyed my family," she said. Orvis said she would have done anything to prevent her son's suicide, but it came without warning.
