But Launceston personal trainer says just moving is a step in the right direction.

Wesfarmers Health Index used de-identified data from 3.6 million health checks from 2.4 million Australians, taking into account state and electorate, through SiSU Health Stations.

It determined Tasmanians had the highest risk factor for obesity, and high blood pressure, and were at most risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the next five years.

The survey was conducted through machines available in most Priceline pharmacies, and other health stops like St Lukes Dentist.
