SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — As the Thanksgiving season approaches, Spokane County is aiming to support families experiencing food insecurity by distributing $100,000 to the regional food bank Second Harvest.
The county says the funding will help ensure that more individuals and families across the county have access to nutritious meals during the holiday season.
“No one in our community should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from—especially during the holidays. This funding reflects our commitment to helping more families in need enjoy a nutritious meal this Thanksgiving," said Spokane County Commissioner Mary Kuney.
The county says the funds are being made available through Spokane County’s Housing & Community Development department.
