WILLIAMS, Ariz. — One person is dead and two children were airlifted to a hospital following a rollover crash that closed westbound Interstate 40 between Williams and Ash Fork on Monday, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The crash, which happened near milepost 153, prompted authorities to close the westbound lanes. As of 6:45 p.m. Monday, the westbound lanes had reopened.

Helicopters transported the two injured children from the crash scene to a hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.

ADOT did not release additional details about the crash, including the identities of those involved or what may have caused the rollover.
