ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Two security guards were shot while chasing a suspect near Georgia State University student housing early Monday morning after a towing dispute escalated into violence.
The gunman opened fire in a church parking lot near an EZ Market BP gas station on Piedmont Avenue NE. Police said a tow truck driver was working to remove the suspect’s car shortly after 12:30 a.m. from the gas station when the man argued with him, pushed him to the ground and ran toward the church.
Two security guards chased the suspect, and the gunman then shot both women, according to police.
Students in a nearby high-rise apartment building said they heard the gunfire and saw people running.
