Former Oakman mayor and Walker County Sheriff’s Office deputy Cory Kwan Franks was recently indicted on two charges following an investigation by the Alabama Attorney General’s Office.
Franks is charged with two counts of using his position for personal gain.
The indictment includes accusations Franks allowed his daughter to drive a city-owned BMW and used $1,749 dollars in city funds for personal use.
Franks was indicted on November 13 and booked into the Walker County Jail. He has since been released.
Franks is considered innocent until proven guilty.
