LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Youth intervention programs have been a part of Central Arkansas's crime reduction efforts for generations.
"[There's] just so many minor things that sent the youth off now, but you just have to teach them that, you know, we don't always react with violence. [To] think of a different way to handle things," Pastor Walter Crockran said.
Crockran is someone who has worked with youth in Central Arkansas for more than a decade and says that times have now changed. In return, this makes intervention and positive outlets more important than ever before.
"We need to work together when we see, we need to try to still show something positive for the work together," Crockran said.
It's a concern that law enforcement officials across the state have been tracking closely.
